Breckenridge is a 147 year old quaint Victorian town and year round resort area, located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Breckenridge offers a vast selection of recreational activities from skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter to hiking, biking, golf and horseback riding in the summer. Main Street is a great place to stroll and the perfect place to shop, with over 200 stores to choose from. Whether you desire fresh air and sunshine, or the pursuit of fine art, music or great food, this historic mining town offers it all.
Buena Vista is nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountain's Collegiate Peaks. Buena Vista is located about 95 miles west of Colorado Springs and about 135 miles southwest of Denver. Buena Vista offers numerous outdoor activities including world renown white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking, backpacking, horseback riding, ATV riding, animal watching and much more. In the winter there is skiing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and more. Buena Vista and the surrounding area offer visual and performing arts events year round.
Colorado Springs located about 80 miles south of Denver in the Pikes Peak region is a gateway city to Southern Colorado and its many outdoor activities. You can drive up Pikes Peak, visit Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, North Pole Amusement Park, the Air Force Academy and many more attractions. Divide and Woodland Park are located near Colorado Springs. Here you'll find thick stands of spruce, pine and aspen, clean mountain air, and spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the Rampart Range. In the winter, Durango has easy access to five major ski resort areas, including Purgatory, located 30 minutes north of downtown. You can ride the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad through the San Juan National Forest to the old mining town of Silverton. Or, visit Mesa Verde National Park (35 miles away) known for its cliff dwellings. Durango hosts many festivals, events and exhibits throughout the year.
Estes Park is located about 70 miles northwest of Denver. Entering Estes Park is like being embraced by the Rockies. Estes Park offers more than 200 retail stores and a restaurant scene that rivals any mountain town in the state. Recreational opportunities abound. The soaring crags that surround town are enjoyed by hikers and climbers. In town there is a scenic river walk, pedestrian friendly sidewalks and tranquil Lake Estes. Mountain biking and horseback trails forge into the adjacent forests and meadows. Estes Park is the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park which offers endless outdoor activities.
Grand Lake is a historic mountain town in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Nestled below snowcapped mountain peaks, this charming village is just one mile from the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Visit one of the many shops, restaurants and galleries on the historic western boardwalk, or create your own outdoor adventure at one of the many attractions in and around the Grand Lake area.
